In this video, we answer additional questions from camera assistants, directors and other film set crew. I've also talked with a few incredible Steadicam operators and asked them what they would want their AC's to know before working with them as steadicam operators. We dive into all this in this Part 2 video.

It screams rip off unless you’re using it with an arri or camera that’s in 90k range!
handsome unit!
Looks like a great new monitor. Weird how it makes the old one suddenly look really 2000s. I'd be interested to see the Arri control if you have time! $500 is maybe spicy if it's kind of limited in terms of menu access, but it would help to see it in action.
It’s a solid upgrade! Agreed, $500 is so much for software and a cable lol But it’s not bad when you consider the Arri EFV is around $10k! Should help keep the Mini “mini”
@@MylesShank Yeah it should be more like $200 if you can't go into the camera menu properly. The CCM-1 is so so nice as it has access to everything in the camera, but obviously very expensive and specific to the MILF/A35. I've really been eyeing up an Ultra 5 w/ camera control for the Mini LF to do small builds with a battery belt etc. The MVF-2 is pretty heavy for this sort of thing, but is so integral to how the camera is controlled.
@@tjh__ the brightness on the CCM-1 is about half the brightness of the Ultra and Ultrabright monitors too which is a bummer. If it were cheaper, I would probably consider it. The Ultra 5 with control is so nice. I‘ll eventually pickup an Ultra 5 but for one-man op scenarios, the 7” screen is nice for grabbing focus when I don’t have an AC.
❤❤❤
Are you shooting your interview shot with the x tune black wings
Interview was shot on 50mm Lomo Round Front Anamorphic 2x
Thanks for the tip on the burton, they discontinued it unfortunately but i managed to find one. It’s amazing, perfect for my needs.
Great tips!
really love the video.great job. can't seem to find the commercial anywhere
Glad you liked it! Spot link is in the video description
how a video with this quality dont have more view??
Nice work :) Would love to see more breakdowns
Thanks! More on the way for sure.
What a brilliant breakdown! There's so much value in this video... Subscribed and looking forward to the next one!
Glad you found it helpful!
Fantastic breakdown! Thank you for the thorough walkthrough!
Awesome video man! So much fun to watch and a lot of great info. You need to do more forsure!
Thanks Cory!
I have a small entry level "steadicam" for some corporate shoots. Max weight 10kg for my setup. One time I had a teleprompter on it and the weight was pretty much at the maximum, I was very surprised about the amount of "sail" area I had when we did one shot outside, it was rather windy and I had to grip the post a lot harder than I originally thought. The teleprompter hood really caught the wind
Good video. Do you train the people how to operate steadicam?
Thanks! I don’t train operators but you can checkout Tiffen Steadicam Workshops for training.

Nice it is good hear
So good to see new Steadicam videos, really good information, thank you.
Thank you! I´m a Steadicam Starter and that will help me and my AC a lot!
Glad to hear it! Best wishes!
Great work man
Thanks Anthony!
Good
Great BTS!
Literally dream of doing this. Thank you for this video. Love seeing the action
Great review Myles, Cooke S4. One of the best lenses ever made. Cheers
Can we output any of the screens regardless of the type of input?
That’s a good question. I’m not sure about the HDMI in/out but the SDI in/out is very reliable. Maybe someone else can answer this or check on B&H’s website Q & As
@@MylesShank Thanks Myles, I'll try to do some documentation. Can't afford the touch for now so as long as it can output applied Lut and any effects then I'm good.
is miss universe use steadycam for the tracking shot live?
Most likely, yes!
Ooo may God bless you
God bless you
Would you still recommend 702 Touch since you posted this video or is there another monitor that you recommend?
Yes, I still use the 702 Touch on my steadicam but I’ve been using the 503 Ultrabright more on my camera.
Great video! suprisingly little info about the Slingshot/Singleshot. I'd love to see some test footage!
Glad you found it useful. I made it because I also couldn’t find much out there. The op on the most recent Godzilla movie sent me a bts photo of him using it and the slingshot with a massive Panavision build which really made me realize how versatile it is.
@@MylesShank That's great to hear! hope to see them on set more. Most of the DPs I work with hate the Easyrig, it's just the lingua franca for handheld right now.
Great work Myles!
Awesome!!!
Steadicam FPV!
Best ❤️❤️ 👍👍🙏🙏 Stadicam 👍👍🙏 🙏🙏💐 thanks
That's one great video. That Battery block sucks. That vibrates a lot. Just noticed it yesterday on a shoot while going through Stairs. Put a piece of Wooden block or wedge underneath it. but don't forget to wrap it around with a gaffer's tape so it won't put scratches under the body. thanks again for the info.
Great video man! I just got my Steadicam rig this year and watching videos like this is definitely helpful! Thanks for all the insight! Looking forward to more videos!
this was super informative! thanks for sharing!
As a 1st I’ve worked with Steadicam Ops a lot before, figured maybe there’s more I can improve on! I usually give free reign to the Op after slimming the build and extra hands if necessary, but weighing down the opposite side of an Innovative Cart so it doesn’t tip over makes sense and good to keep in mind for the future! :) Great work, very clear and easy to understand, thanks so much!
nice one
this is such a good video!
Thanks! I hope it’s insightful for a lot of crew members!
Ran into your vid organically again! Great work man! Exciting stuff!!
Thanks man! I was talking to Evan Luzi and I’m planning on filming an AC’s intro to working with Steadicam very soon.
Thanks Man! Enjoyed this.
Awesome video! looking at all these lenses lately.
They’re all great spherical lenses. The FD’s for sure have a soft and flarey look to them but the S4 mini’s have a nice subtle flare too
Found this organically, thanks for the comparisons dude! I was between those 3.
Haha Hey bro! Glad to help. The 7” Touch is great. Highly recommend.
Loved this video. So you some lenses for a project that is shelves due to covid? Tell me about it, same story here. While we wait, we might as well try some more lenses right lol. Searching about and looking for lenses keep me sane during this.
Great video Myles. Enjoyed hearing your take on these lenses.
Been following you on IG for a while and i now stumbled across your youtube while diving down a lens rabbit hole. All i’m going to say is that i would love to see more content on here, it truly is great! Maybe even bts to some of the shoots you post on IG.
Ah, great to hear! I do need to make more videos on this channel. I’ve been thinking about digging into some BTS photos and videos after projects have released so that’s a great idea.
is there anyway you can have the colors match exactly with the default monitor? I have the 701 lite i love the screen size (7inch) but color are completely off as well as the monitor seems like it displays a stop higher in exposure.
I never trust the color on a SmallHD monitor. I have a Flanders DM240 when we need a truly color accurate monitor but the SmallHD monitors are nice when shooting ArriRaw or R3D as you can tweak color in post. I have a friend who calibrates his SmallHD monitors so that they’re about as good as SmallHD can be but yes, they’re never quite perfect.
Qual é valor de steadicam dessa ?
